The Disney Park experience is one that is beloved and sought after by Guests from all over the world. Whether it’s enjoying the domestic Disney Parks experience at either the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, or the international ones across the pond like any Parisian Disney Theme Park or Hong Kong Disneyland, or Tokyo Disney Resort, there’s a lot to love.
But not every aspect of the Disney experience is universally loved. Recently, the Disney Parks have been under fire for the constant price increases and increase in the number of paid services Guests need to avail of to have a smooth Disney vacation.
Disney Genie suite (Genie+, Lightning Lane, and Individual Lightning Lane)
The Disney Genie suite has made enemies out of many die-hard, devoted Disney fans and Disney Parks fans. The product, which replaced the formerly free FastPass+ system in the domestic Disney Parks, has been the bane of many Guests’ existence as they work to figure out how to effectively use the service while also shelling out a pretty penny.
Meanwhile, Disney executives, like Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, constantly reiterate that the product is one they believe in and have recently continued to make changes to how it manifests in the Parks when it comes to pricing and use.
Disney Premier Access in Disneyland Paris
While it’s not marketed as Disney Genie, there is an international version of the service. Disneyland Paris saw the introduction of Disney Premier Access in the Paris Park, which allows Guests to pay to skip lines; per the latest reports, it will likely soon be introduced to another ride.
In June, Pirates of the Caribbean at Parc Disneyland closed for refurbishment. On its reopening, the ride sported a new addition—a line for those purchasing Disney Premier Access. While at the time of publishing, the ride hasn’t officially been added to the list of attractions included with Disney Premier Access, the addition of this line tells us the day is not far off!
Considering the popularity of the ride and the fact it’s been gone most of June, more Disneyland Paris Guests may find themselves purchasing the pass in order to experience the beloved attraction.
