The Walt Disney Company has strived hard to have more diverse casting in its films, but this has not extended to the animal world. Disney has long featured typical popular dog breeds over the course of its existence but rarely ever featured everyone’s favorite pugs in any meaningful spotlight. However, a Karoll and Luna Disney movie poster has started appearing online, giving hope to pug fans worldwide.

People quickly started sharing the image on social media. Many want it to be real, and it is about time the entertainment giant made up for its poor pug representation depicted via Percy from Pocahontas. We here at Disney Fanatic are diving into this image to fact-check the existence of a Karoll and Luna Disney movie. Let’s discuss it below.

The Appeal of Pugs

Pugs are beloved by dog owners for various reasons. One of the key attractions is their charming appearance with wrinkled faces, big expressive eyes, and curly tails. Pugs are known for their friendly and affectionate temperament, making them excellent companions, especially for families and individuals.

They are adaptable, thrive in different living environments, and require minimal exercise, fitting well into various lifestyles. Their playful and comedic personality adds to their appeal, often bringing joy and laughter to their owners. Pugs also have a historical significance, having been favored by Chinese emperors in ancient times, which enhances their allure.

As one of the most beloved and recognizable dog breeds, one would think Disney would have featured them in many of its films. However, there has only ever been one major pug in the lineup of Disney classics.

Percy the Pug From Pocahontas

Percy, the pet dog of Governor Ratcliffe in Disney’s Pocahontas, is identified as a pug in popular culture but does not faithfully represent the breed. Pugs are known to be well-mannered, faithful, and extremely likable animals.

Percy, on the other hand, is anything but these descriptive traits. He is a sidekick to a villain and pampered to the point of annoyance. He also constantly barks and has no traits to love.

Pug owners deserve a real representation of their favorite breed in Disney films, which is why so many fans of the breed have latched onto this recent viral poster.

Karoll and Luna Disney Movie

The Facebook fan page for the famous deceased dog Mocha the Pug recently uploaded an image of a Karoll and Luna Disney movie by Pixar. The poster features a fawn-colored pug and a black pug walking down the sidewalk of a city park. Pug fans instantly loved it, and many started wondering if it was legit.

The image received over 10,000 likes in 24 hours and several thousand comments and shares. Disney might just be missing out on a good opportunity here.

Sadly, the Karoll and Luna Disney movie poster is just another image generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Disney and Pixar have never announced a Karoll and Luna film, and the creation has a ton of giveaways that it is indeed fake.

Aside from the skewed Disney and Pixar logo, the wording in the poster is also hard to read, and some of it doesn’t make sense. However, this hasn’t stopped people from only looking at the pugs and believing it to be a real film. They are, in fact, adorable and believable as Disney animated pugs.

The names Karoll and Luna might be a reference to the Disney Channel Latin America show Soy Luna, starring Karol Sevilla.

AI Image generators have made some impressive things lately. However, some of these Disney posters have also been crude or controversial. People post genuinely adorable ones, but others try to smear Disney’s reputation by posting more sinister creations.

While Disney is not making a Karoll and Luna movie with Pixar, we can still hope that the House of Mouse will one day grace us with the pug duo film we deserve. Until then, we can only dream.
