It’s not often that the Walt Disney Company releases a new animated Disney Princess crossover. In fact, the entertainment giant hasn’t capitalized on this popularity since Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet in 2018. Disney is finally reuniting several princesses for an adventure, and the newest trailer release actually looks quite entertaining. We even get to see the timid Snow White let loose as an axe-wielding maniac. Let’s look at what is coming to the Disney+ streaming platform soon.

Lego Disney Princess Adventure

You will sadly be disappointed if you hope for an amazing adventure in Disney’s iconic animation style. Several beloved princesses will get the Lego treatment for this outing. That’s right, Disney’s newest offering is called Lego Disney Princess: The Castle Quest. It is being released on August 18 in celebration of World Princess Week. However, based on the trailer, it looks like this Lego Disney princess adventure could be a hit for kids.

The premise is simple. The villainous Gaston from Beauty and the Beast is causing trouble, and it’s up to some savvy princesses to save the day. The official Disney+ description is as follows:

Tiana, Moana, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Ariel are off on an adventure as they are each unexpectedly transported to a mysterious castle. Shortly after arriving, they soon discover that Gaston has hatched an evil plan to take over all their kingdoms!. The Princess characters must work together to solve challenges hidden deep within the castle walls and try to save their kingdoms from Gaston. Will bravery, quick-thinking, and teamwork prevail?

Castle Quest Trailer

The trailer introduces us to Gaston’s plot. He has captured King Triton and plans to use a magic wand to become ruler of land and sea, with the Magic Mirror as his sidekick. The five princesses are magically transported to the castle and team up to stop his nefarious plot. Each princess gets a moment to shine. Ariel and Moana fight pirates while some other antics play out. All the iconic voice actresses return to voice their princesses as well.

However, Snow White seems to be particularly out-of-sorts for this adventure. She comes bearing an axe and ready for violence. She even has a scene where she creates her own “indestructible armor” mech. “That girl is seven gems short of a diamond mine,” Tiana responds when viewing Snow White’s behavior.

Is this the princess crossover your child has been waiting to see? Let’s hope it is as entertaining as it looks when it releases later this month!
