Disney fans were horrified at catching a ton of mold at a Magic Kingdom attraction and calling the situation “ridiculous.”
The Disney Parks are an experience to write home about. People from all over the world flock to the Disney Theme Parks to get their fill of the Disney magic we all know and love, be that Resort or . When visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Guests have the option of going to either Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Off-late, at the Disney Park, there have been more and more notices and accounts of rides and attractions needing maintenance, particularly there have been accounts and sightings of mold. Mold can be dangerous as it may cause allergic symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, difficulty breathing, headache, and fatigue. Repeated exposure to mold can increase a person’s sensitivity, causing more severe allergic reactions.
Disney Theme Park Guest and Reddit user u/ZeroVector_518 shared a photo of an enormous amount of mold at Space Mountain:

Some commenters were unsure if what the picture depicted was indeed mold, and the OP clarified,
It’s definitely mold, the amount of condensation on these vents is ridiculous. The room was not designed to have a roof over it and when they added the roof in the 2009 refurb they didn’t bother to update the AC system. Now that the bulk of the queue is in this room, a lot of heat is generated and these AC vents can’t handle it so they run all day and form a lot of condensation and then mold.

Fans and Guests also speculated that Disney hadn’t yet closed Space Mountain for refurbishment because they were focused on the TRON construction, which is slowly nearing its end. In fact, the Walt Disney World Railroad is also set to open soon; it had been previously closed due to TRON’s construction.
