In the wake of the dramatic upheaval of the Walt Disney Company, an old ad has resurfaced depicting everything that Disney saw leave during former CEO Chapek’s tenure.
The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have long been acknowledged as some of the best places in the world for a Disney vacation. With the myriad rides and attractions on offer, the Disney Resorts and their Disney Parks have fans returning in droves to get their fix of the Disney experience at a . But even some of the most hardcore fans have noted some changes that have not been for the best over the last few years.
The primary party held responsible for a lot of these negative changes—increased prices, decreased quality of experience at the Parks, reported increase in unacceptable Guest behavior—has been the former Disney CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek. Now that has returned to the position, many hope this is a sign of a return to normalcy. But the reality is the Disney experience has changed a lot since Iger was last at the helm.
Recently, an old Disney ad resurfaced on social media (and not for the first time since it’s release), reminding people of what Disney once was and why fans and Guests flocked to the Parks.
Check it out:
The ad depicts all the wonderful inclusions of a Disney vacation at a Resort or Resort hotel. Of course, since this ad’s release, many of the perks advertised were since altered or removed under former ‘s watch. Think free Magic Bands (now no longer included with a Resort stay), Fastpass+ (now replaced by the paid Disney Genie suite including Genie+ and Lightning Lane), and complimentary transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport (removed in January 2022).
It’s apparent that the current has his work cut out for him. Iger has mentioned before that promoting Chapek was a decision he regrets. He is also set to address the Walt Disney Company employees and Cast Members at an upcoming town hall this Monday, November 28. Only time will tell what the future of Disney holds both for the Company, , as well as the legacy it’s painstakingly built over almost 100 years now.
