Even if opinions regarding the American actor Johnny Depp are mixed after the defamation trial involving Amber Heard, many Disney fans are clamoring for the return of Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow.

Captain Jack Sparrow has become known for his funny one-liners, pirate mannerisms, and his endearing moments with Disney Guests during Meet and Greets (not to mention the time when Johhny Depp himself dressed up as Captain Jack again to surprise visitors). Now, a Cast Member portraying Captain Jack Sparrow has remained true to his character by making one special Disneyland Paris Guest’s day!

Apparently, Captain Jack met a blind Disney Guest while strolling through Adventureland in Disneyland Paris. The Guest was a man who was on his first vacation since becoming blind and who “was quite apprehensive about how he would manage in the theme park.” Captain Jack Sparrow seems to have helped with that apprehension!

“As we were making our way around Adventureland, we met Captain Jack Sparrow as he was walking around,” the son of the blind Guest explained. “As my father had his cane out in front of him, Jack took a jump back as he exclaimed, ‘That’s a mighty sword! You nearly had my toes, mate!'”

The Guest’s father apparently loved the joke and Captain Jack Sparrow’s approach. “The laugh that came from my father was completely heartwarming,” the man’s son said. “But it really melted his shell, and he was laughing recalling it at dinner that night. Thank you, kind friend of Captain Jack Sparrow, for making my father’s trip.”

A humorous response to a situation is certainly a Captain Jack Sparrow and Pirates of the Caribbean signature — but in this case, it is also a testament to Disney Cast Members’ impressive ability to adapt. What’s the best interaction that you’ve ever had with a Cast Member who was a “friend” of Captain Jack Sparrow?
