We all can’t wait for new Disney attractions to be announced for the theme parks.

At the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, guests are eagerly awaiting the news of confirmed rides ready for the Disney Parks to compete with Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe park coming in 2025.

Not much is in the pipeline at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom parks, but now, two surprise new attractions have popped up in the Disney app.

There’s always something new to discover on a Disney vacation.

At Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom has lost Splash Mountain and gained TRON Lightcycle / Run, EPCOT and its World Showcase has the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new Finding Nemo musical.

Over at the Disneyland Resort, Disney California Adventure has the Avengers Campus, while Disney Cruise Line has the Disney Wish and upcoming Disney Treasure ships.

But at Disneyland Paris, two new attractions have popped up in the theme park app – attractions that may surprise you.

Disneyland Paris consists of two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park), seven resort hotels, and a shopping and dining district known as Disney Village. It was previously known as Euro Disney when it opened back in 1992 for a European Disney vacation.

The France Disney Resort just celebrated its 30th anniversary to rave reviews, with a new fireworks spectacular, a drone show (Disney D-Light), and new food and merchandise.

The Paris Disney Parks are home to fan-favorite Disney vacation attractions such as Peter Pan’s Flight, Star Tours, and Space Mountain, as well as rides unique to Paris like the amazing Crush’s Coaster and Phantom Manor.

Two NEW Disney Attractions

Now, it seems as though “trees” are also a unique attraction to Disneyland Paris. DLP Report shared app screenshots to X (formerly Twitter) of trees now being listed as attractions in the theme park:

Disneyland Paris has started listing various Disneyland Park trees as Attractions in the official app

That’s right, trees. The trees listed as new Disney “attractions” are the famous Square Trees surrounding the Sleeping Beauty caste and the Jurassic Tree / Wollemi Pine.

The castle at Disneyland Paris is special in that it is home to a large sleeping dragon that occasionally awakens, puffs smoke, and roars. The square trees around the castle are a nod to the 1959 Sleeping Beauty movie.

Existing since the opening of Disneyland Paris and renewed in 2007, these Arizona Cypresses and English Yew trees pay tribute to 17th-century paintings. Twice a year, Disney Cast Members and tree specialists use a mobile platform and electric equipment to maintain their iconic square shape.

The Jurassic Tree was discovered by chance in Australia in 1985 and is a genuine dinosaur plant from the Cretaceous period. The Wollemi pine is listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature: fewer than 100 trees have been recorded in the wild.

Of course, Disney Park fans and guests were quick to tease Disney’s official new attractions. One X user, @thewebconmusic, considered other operational parts of the theme parks as magical if the trees themselves are being considered attractions, writing:

Next they’ll be adding the drinking fountains as a water ride

@DLPTipsForIrish commented on the long wait for new rides at the Disneyland Paris Resort, by sarcastically celebrating the two “new attractions:”

28 years waiting for a new attraction and then we get two!

Disney fan @JDLPer also poked fun at the square trees, joking with a great pun that:

I’m gonna skip, that attraction is to wild for me

While @paristexa5 questioned whether the trees would get their own premier access, Disney Genie, or Lightning Lane line-skipping options:

premier access for jurassic tree when??

New Disney Attractions Coming to Paris

After the debut of the new show “TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure” back in July, the Disneyland Paris theme parks will see many updates over the next months.

A major expansion has seen additions to Production Courtyard and Toon Studio, pre-existing lands at the Walt Disney Studios Park’s entrance. They will be refurbished from November 2023 to May 2025, while the Toontown area will become an expanded photo op area of Worlds of Pixar.

Furthermore, Disneyland Paris Guests are looking forward to the new Arendelle – World of Frozen land and the Tangled Round Ride, a spinner attraction based on the Rapunzel movie located in the Lake Promenade expansion area.

They may not be Star Wars, Cosmic Rewind, or a Haunted Mansion, but its fun to see Disney honor our planet in its theme parks.

Whether or not trees count as new Disney attractions, it’s pretty “treemendous” to celebrate nature once in a while, as well as the hard work that Disney Imagineers put into designing the landscape of a theme park.

And the beauty of the Disneyland Paris Park is no exception.
