Thanksgiving Dinner Goes Quick-Service At Disney

For many it is a tradition to sit down to an elaborate Thanksgiving feast each year in the presence of extended family and loving friends. But if you’re lucky enough to be at Walt Disney World Resort on such a holiday, that’s celebration enough. And while gorging yourself in a multi-course meal at one of Disney’s acclaimed table-service establishments might be a consideration, ask yourself if it is really necessary.

So, if you don’t want the bloat to slow you down but would still like to indulge your holiday tastes all the same, then you’ll be happy to know that many Disney quick-service meal locations are offering up Thanksgiving-themed specials that you can eat on the go or take with you to sit down in a relaxed setting without all the fanfare. So where can you go if this is what you decide to do? Here are a couple of suggestions.

Resort Hotel Food Courts

Several of the food court locations around Walt Disney World Resorts are offering up special holiday meals for Thanksgiving. Some specials will be ongoing throughout the week while others are Thanksgiving day-only exclusives. Here are some of the venues that have announced Thanksgiving meal specials, available in both Adult and Child portions:

  • Contempo Café—Offering roasted turkey, holiday stuffing, garlic-mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, baby carrots, and cranberry sauce.
  • Landscape of Flavors –Providing herb-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, green beans, and a dinner roll.
  • Everything POP Shopping & Dining—Serving herb-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, green beans, and a dinner roll.

  • Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory and Riverside Mill Food Court—Both locations will have turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a roll.
  • The Mara—Dishing up white and dark meat turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, Mealie Bread specialty stuffing, and cranberry chutney.
  • The Artist’s Palette—Scrounging up some citrus-brined slow-roasted turkey breast with house-made cornbread and turkey sausage stuffing, green beans, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and a Parker House roll.
  • Captain Cook’s—Will be cooking up oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green beans, and cranberry sauce.

P& J’s Southern Takeout

This exclusive takeout location at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campsites offers a delicious turkey sandwich on their kid’s menu regularly, but as a Thanksgiving special, they’re providing two limited-time turkey meal specials. The first is their Holiday Turkey Dinner. Available in both adult and child portions, the meal consists of house-smoked turkey served with cornbread stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and side of cranberry sauce. They’re also cooking up their specialty Turkey Gobbler, which comes as a house-smoked turkey breast on a Tuscan roll with cornbread stuffing, gravy, and orange-cranberry sauce served with fries.


Beach Club Marketplace

In addition to offering a broad range of holiday exclusive sweet treats, this nice little stop on-location at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is providing a holiday special Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich topped with stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy.


Restaurantosaurus 

Head on over to this convenient favorite, on-location at DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and delight in their own Open-Faced Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich. Available Thanksgiving Day only, this special comes served up on grilled multigrain bread with roasted garlic mayonnaise, cornbread stuffing waffle, sliced smoked turkey breast, herb gravy, cranberry sauce, and a fried sage leaf.

Satu’li Canteen

If you’re looking for something other than a sandwich while at the Animal Kingdom then you may want to check out this novel establishment over in Pandora – The World of Avatar. Known for its many unique offerings, their take on Thanksgiving exclusives is no exception. You be the judge when you try their specialty Thanksgiving Bowl, comprised of wood-grilled turkey breast with gravy, stuffing, and red pepper-onion-sweet potato hash topped with crunchy vegetable slaw and boba pearls.

An alternative special also being offered on Thanksgiving Day is their Combination Bowl: Grilled Beef and Turkey. As its name implies this comes as a coordination of slow-roasted, sliced grilled beef marinated in a blend of garlic, herbs, and red pepper spice, and red wine vinegar paired with wood-grilled turkey topped with crunchy vegetable slaw and boba balls served with your choice of base and sauce. Remember to save room for dessert by way of their Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse,


D-Luxe Burger

If you plan on spending some time at Disney Springs, you may want to check out an exclusive burger-centered take on Thanksgiving feasting. And you can do so right onsite at D-Luxe Burger, where they are offering up a Holiday Turkey Burger special, comprised of a turkey patty, butternut squash risotto cake, bacon-cranberry jam, lettuce, and tomato.

Earl of Sandwich

From burgers to sandwiches, there are many creative ways to capture quick-service Thanksgiving alternatives. For the ultimate sandwich you might want to head on over to Earl of Sandwich. Here you can delight in their rightly named Holiday Turkey Sandwich, which comes as presentation of turkey, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and mayonnaise.

The Smokehouse at House of Blues

If you’re looking for a quick and convenient alternative to an elaborate sit-down dinner at the famed House of Blues at Disney Springs, you may want to check out the scene at the Smokehouse at House of Blues. Offering up counter-service classics year-round, one Disney-renowned specialty you can delight in here, in getting back to a Thanksgiving classic, is none other than their Smoked Turkey Leg seasoned with House of Blues exclusive spices.


Liberty Square Market

We’ve all heard of Liberty Tree Tavern as being the epitome of Thanksgiving feasting at Magic Kingdom Park, but for a low-key, quick-service alternative that can also be found in Liberty Square, you may just want to head on over to Liberty Square Market. This is where to find their own Turkey Leg feature. Another Magic Kingdom location that serves up those famed Turkey Legs is Prince Eric’s Village Market in Fantasyland.

Fife & Drum Tavern

In EPCOT you’ll find this quick-service establishment, located appropriately enough in the American Adventure Pavilion. Here too is where you can find that Disney World-renowned Turkey Leg. For other great American favorites, not necessarily Thanksgiving themed per se, you might want to also check out the menu at Regal Eagle Smokehouse. They don’t serve up turkey but do provide hearty American barbecue classics, including Kansas City Smoked Half-Chicken platters with your choice of a side.

Sunshine Seasons

This food court located in EPCOT’s Land Pavilion has it all, anytime of year. So for those craving turkey on turkey day, you can enjoy many regular menu offerings on this special day. One such suggestion is their Rotisserie Turkey Club, which comes with bacon jam, avocado aïoli, and Monterey Jack and is served on Focaccia with a side of potato chips. They also dish up a delightful Oak-grilled Rotisserie Chicken platter with black beans and yellow rice.


The Polite Pig

This Disney Springs barbecue favorite is known for their classic American fare. Among their many offerings, they proudly serve up various turkey-laden concoctions. For starters, there is their Smoked Turkey BLT Sandwich, which combines sweet barbecue bacon-onion jam, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato with Duke’s Mayo, and an accompanying pickle. Another option, for a more bountiful turkey feast closer to Thanksgiving tradition, is their Sliced Smoked Turkey Breast, which is listed on their kids’ menu but can be ordered by anyone.

Woody’s Lunch Box

Speaking of kids, young guests as well as those who are young at heart can take delight in the quick-service options at Woody’s Lunch Box, over in Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. They too dish up their own house Smoked Turkey Sandwich, which comes as a thick-sliced turkey breast with lettuce, tomato, and Dijonnaise, served up chilled on a sunflower multigrain bun. Also take note that there are many other locations throughout Hollywood Studios that also offer turkey sandwiches, though many are featured on special kids’ menus.

World Premier Food Court

While not being advertised as a designated holiday special, this food court over at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort regularly offers a Roasted Turkey Dinner feature, which includes mashed potatoes, green beans, and gravy. They also present a Turkey Sandwich, comprised of mozzarella, sweet bell peppers, basil aïoli, lettuce, and balsamic vinaigrette served with fries.


Intermission Food Court

Likewise, this featured food court over at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort serves up the same, aforementioned Turkey Sandwich. Pair this with either their holiday exclusive Apple Tart or Pumpkin Tart, and you have quick-service Thanksgiving made!

These are just some of many possible quick-service suggestions to consider as alternatives to traditional Thanksgiving dinner. And we haven’t even covered all those limited-time holiday exclusive sweet treat dessert offerings that can make even the most casual meals extra special.
