Visiting Disney World is a magical experience for many people. However, some fans cannot deal with the lack of magic in their lives outside of vacation. Finding joy in small things is a good way to unwind and survive in today’s world. Disney Ears have gained popularity for being a comfortable way to express your love for the happiest place on earth, but would you ever expect them to be a source of an adult meltdown? One person discovered the hard way that young kids are not always the only ones needing parenting. Keep reading to hear about this ridiculous temper tantrum over Disney ears.
Disney Princess Karaoke Nightmares
Most people learn to control their emotions around other people as they grow up. Something as trivial as seeing a friend wearing Disney Ears would not be a source of frustration. There are always alternatives to this idea, however.
One woman took to Reddit recently to get feedback on the behavior of her adult niece during a karaoke night with friends. The user decided that she wanted to wear her Disney Princess ears to the outing as a way to feel like a princess for the night. She had recently been going through a tough time in life, and the ears brought her some sense of joy. They were a special gift from a close friend when the two took a Disney vacation together. However, this simple act caused her 23-year-old niece, referred to as “D” in the story, to act like a fool for the entire night.
AITA for deciding to be a princess for an evening?

“D saw my ears and was immediately annoyed,” user u/Friendly_Source658 explained. “She asked why I was wearing that. I told the truth that I just needed to feel good for a night, and all of our group saw that it made me happy and thought it was a fun thing.”
What should have ended there turned into a full night of a 23-year-old woman acting like a toddler who was jealous that she didn’t get to wear ears for the night as well.
Whenever other regulars made comments about my princess ears, D would cut in and say SHE would be wearing hers but they were packed for a move. Then our friend who is the KJ called me up as “Princess [Name]” and D lost her mind. She was angry and accused me of being an attention w***e, that I wasn’t and never would be a princess, that I was being completely rude to her.
Obviously, this is not normal behavior and is akin to acting like a small child. It is commendable that the user was able to take a deep breath and remain cool for as long as she did that night.
Eventually, u/Friendly_Source658 could not keep her frustration with the behavior to herself anymore, stating:
I told her that if me just wearing Disney ears with a princess theme bothered her, she was giving off straight evil step sister vibes.
This infuriated the toddler tantrum to drastic levels. The niece’s boyfriend asked if she could wear the ears for one karaoke song, to which this user obviously refused. Rewarding this behavior was not something she was willing to do, and she was also fearful that she would never see her Disney ears again if she complied.

Obviously, acting with a sense of maturity goes a long way. The user tried to add some context to her niece’s behavior, saying that she’s still young and an entitled only child. This is no excuse, however, to act like an angry Donald Duck over a simple thing like Disney merchandise.
