Yet Another Reason Why We Love Disney Park Cast Members

A Disney Park Guest shared a recent experience that proved, yet again, that the Disney Cast Members are the MVPs of a Theme Park.

Fans worldwide flock to the Disney Parks to get their fill of the Disney magic. Whichever Theme Park you choose, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure, the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are known for their immersive Disney experience that Guests know and love.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. The heart of that experience are the Disney Cast Members. Whether it’s looking out for young children or ensure every Guest has a magical experience, they work tirelessly to make sure that every Park visitor has the best time.

And now, we have a new story. A Disney Park Guest and Reddit user, u/Thut_Life took to the platform to share her interaction with one particular CM during her visit to the Disneyland Resort.

The Guest shared,

To the dark haired fella working the jungle cruise line on 10/29 at around 10:45pm…

I’m sorry I forgot your name but thank you for being kind and discreet when I had my very first “fat girl doesn’t fit” experience at Disneyland. I’ve been terrified of having that experience after five kids and mobility issues led to all kinds of weight gain. TERRIFIED.

So when I was supposed to board the jungle cruise boat but couldn’t make it to the designated area due to a vertical metal bar making that particular space too narrow for me, you let me know it was no problem and had me stand aside with my party waiting for the next one.

And most importantly, when another smiling cast member misunderstood what you were doing, you didn’t call me out or put me on the spot. You just reiterated to her that we are going to hang tight right there for just a sec.

Might seem stupid but it meant a lot to me.

This sort of consideration and compassion is precisely what makes the Disney experience so special. Fellow fans and Guests in the comments also corroborated the feeling. U/Laur_duh said, “I agree that Disneyland cast members are THE BEST,” and added that the OP should file a Cast Compliment.

U/nothinbuta_gthang also chimed in, “Thank you for sharing! Def not stupid – I appreciate it as a fat girl myself. I’m glad the cast member was kind and compassionate?.”
